FMSG works with asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants. We aim to offer practical support and help to those most in need, and to signpost people to appropriate services. FMSG also works with the people of Folkestone, aiding integration, understanding and communication. Children and young people are the central focus of FMSG’s work but we also work with adults and family groups. We try hard not to leave anyone out!
I am not a person in this country and I am not from my country. I cannot make friends really and I cannot fit in. I want to be a young person and be normal. I feel like the worst person in the world. There is nothing I can do....every day is war still; not guns but not friends neither.

Who We Are
FMSG is a registered charity, overseen by a Board of Trustees. Trustee members are drawn from the local area and are from different backgrounds and countries. They have a range of experience & expertise on community issues, such as accountancy, law, arts and child welfare. The trustees have legal responsibility for the work of the charity, help shape its future direction and play an active role in fundraising. FMSG currently has two outreach workers and administrative support to encourage a dedicated team of volunteers and run projects as required. FMSG does not work in isolation. The work could not take place without the co-operation of many other local, regional and national organisations.
It isn’t safe to play in park. The boys take ball, hit us. They say they kill. You take ball. You say everybody play. You say I am friend. They want to play now, all the times.
